For some, their vehicle isn’t just a mode of transport – it’s their livelihood. At Eastern Tyres, no one understands this better than us. If it’s vital that your car remains in premium condition, you need to have it serviced by those you can trust.

We also understand that, for rideshare drivers, time is money. This is often a reason why rideshare and taxi drivers put off a vehicle inspection. It simply takes too much time and costs too much money to have your car stuck at the mechanics for any length of time.

Fortunately, our workshop in Canterbury is stocked with cutting edge equipment and highly skilled rideshare mechanics, which means we can carry out inspections in no time at all. Less time in the shop means a smaller bill and more time on the road. Get the inspections you need to maintain your licence without hurting the hip pocket.

Can any mechanic do a rideshare car inspection?

Simply put – no. It’s a requirement of rideshare drivers to have their vehicles annually inspected by a CPVV-approved mechanic. Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria is the regulator responsible for the commercial passenger vehicle industry. They work with drivers to ensure services for customers are safe and accessible.

That’s why you have to have your vehicle serviced by a mechanic they approve of – which we are. This also means you can trust that your car is being serviced and inspected by people who know what they’re doing. When you have your vehicle inspected by us, you can rest assured that it’s in working order and safe for you and your clients.

What exactly are we checking during an inspection?

An inspection serves to answer two main questions:

  • Is your car safe to drive?
  • Will your passengers have an enjoyable experience?

We’ll check things like the year, make and model of your vehicle. It must have four doors and be able to carry 4 passengers – each, of course, with their own seatbelt.

Then it’s on to the 19-point checklist, which looks at:

  • Headlights
  • Tail lights
  • Indicator lights
  • Brake lights
  • Brake pads
  • Parking brake
  • Steering mechanism
  • Windshield
  • Rear window
  • Passenger windows
  • Wipers
  • Front seat adjustment
  • Seatbelts
  • Doors
  • Horn
  • Speedometer
  • Bumpers
  • Muffler
  • Tyres
  • Mirrors

It may seem like a lot, but this really doesn’t take much time at all. And you need it if you want to work as rideshare driver. So check out our great deals below, and book in now. We’re quicker than the Ferrari pit-stop team.
